Quiz night – RAC , Epsom in the 19th Hole. An informal and fun evening, with teams taking the result very seriously! Great prizes to be won, with dinner and all thanks to Tony Burgess, who kindly arranges.
The event organiser Tony Burgess writes:
Following half a dozen successful events which I started during my time as Chairman of your club the committee has asked me to arrange another Quiz Night at the 19th Hole at the RAC Club in Epsom on the above date. Once again I have obtained the services of Graham Bishop who organises the very successful Quiz Nights which the RAC runs for its own members.
The evening will start with a reception at 6.30pm. At around 7.00 pm the room will be split into teams of 8. Members can either organise their own groups or we will put teams of 8 together. Team size has to be fairly strict otherwise it becomes unfair.
At around 8.15pm a buffet style meal will be served comprising:-
Spiced parsnip and apple soup
Roast Norfolk turkey with all the trimmings
Christmas Pudding with brandy sauce
Coffee and cocktail mince pies
The price of tickets for the evening including half a bottle of wine per person, prizes and Grahams Fee will be £42.50 per person the same price as last time. Free soft drinks with dinner will be available for those who do not drink alcohol but would you please order these from the bar. All "non dinner drinks" are for the account of the individual. Dress is smart casual but no Jeans please
After Dinner the Quiz will continue with a finishing time of somewhere around 11.00pm. As many of you will know Graham is an excellent Quiz Master/Organiser and makes the occasion really good fun. We have all undergone a long and difficult pandemic with the majority of social events cancelled so I do hope that we can achieve a "bumper" turnout for this survivor which has been so popular in the past.
A slip is attached for completion and return to David Collins, the Club Secretary and once again the Committee and I look forward to your support for this event which has now become so well established in the Club's calendar
Yours sincerely
Tony Burgess
Committee member
