The highlight of our events calendar, our Annual Dinner, is due to take place at the RAC, Pall Mall, London on the date shown above. I am delighted to extend this invitation to you and your guest(s) if you so desire.Our speaker cannot be announced more than 48 hours before the dinner, due to security considerations, but I can tell you our speaker is a senior member of Prime Minister, Boris Johnson’s new cabinet. You will not be disappointed. Our President, Chris Grayling MP, will also be in attendance.
The Dinner is of course free for Members of the 1964 Club as part of your membership entitlement. Tickets for guests are priced at £100.00. Coaches will be laid on both ways at an additional cost of £12 per person.
The Black-Tie evening will commence with a reception from 6.45pm followed at 7.30pm by a 4 course meal including wine or soft drinks. Carriages will be approximately 10.15 pm which should ensure a return to Ashtead or Ewell – the coach pick up points, by around 11.15pm.
The menu we have arranged with the RAC, promises to be a highlight of this prestigious annual event and is shown below.
Starter: Cream of white Onion soup, rarebit croutes.
Main: Fillets of Dover sole, filled with salmon mousse, served with asparagus, crushed new potatoes and watercress cream.
Sweet:Apple tarte tatin, caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Chefs choice Fine cheese selection, served with crackers, chutney grapes and dried fruit
Coffee with chocolates and petit fours.
The usual acceptance slip is available for return to our Hon. Sec. David Collins by Thursday 26thSeptember at the very latest. Please help David by booking your place as early as possible.
As this will be my first Annual Dinner as Chairman of the Club, I really look forward to seeing as many of the members and guests as are able to join me and my wife Lynn, for what will be a memorable evening.
