As our dinner will follow the period of official mourning, I think it appropriate our dinner at Leatherhead should go ahead as planned. At the dinner, we will pay tribute to HM the Queen and toast the health of our new king.

Dear Member,
I hope you are keeping well at a time when both the weather and the political scene are hotting up. With a Conservative leadership contest underway, inflation now forecast to hit 13% and unrest in the word, there is no apparent respite from seeming crisis.
In this troubled world, I am delighted to invite you to an oasis of calm, at our next dinner to be held on Thursday 22nd September. We will once again be enjoying the hospitality of the Police Federation and the company of our Guest speaker, Lord Daniel Hannan. The evening will commence at 7.00pm with a reception and we will sit down to dinner at 7.30pm and we should finish around 10.15 pm.
Lord Hannan is an ardent Brexiteer and with so much having happened since he was last with us, including his elevation to the upper house, it will be fascinating to hear what he has to say. What are his views, post Brexit, how does he see the future, all questions he will be happy to answer and give his unique insight into where the UK is heading? He rarely speaks to smaller groups, so this really is a unique opportunity to hear from one of the leading voices within the Conservative party.
You support is very important; hence we are seeking bookings for this dinner a little earlier than usual. Guests are very welcome of course. Furthermore, despite an understandable increase in the cost of the catering at the Police Federation, we are holding the cost of the dinner at last years price. One of the few things in life that are not increasing in price! The menu we have selected is as follows:
Starter: Citrus house cured salmon fillet, salt baked beets, pickled red onion, dill crème fraiche.
Main: Thyme Roasted corn fed chicken breasts, confit potato, caramelised onion puree, savoy cabbage, crispy bacon, red wine jus.
Sweet: Caramelised apple tart, calvados and vanilla cream.
Coffee/tea with chocolate truffles.
Wine will be included at the reception and dinner.
I hope you will join Lynn and I for this special event. In anticipation, my thanks and I look forward to the pleasure of your company. Please complete the reply sip attached and return to David Collins the Hon Secretary. Daniel Hannan is always very popular, so early application is advisable.
Best wishes
